Here
we have shrimp
fried rice, broccoli,
grapes, manjuu, and an
manjuu. Fried rice is so easy to make, and as far
as baking-type stuff goes, so are manjuu (steamed, sweet
cakelike buns), because you don't have to fool with
yeast, and let dough rise, and punch it down, and
wait for it to rise again, and all that junk.
The ball on the left is plain manju with no
filling. The one on the right is an manju, meaning it
has anko filling. Something like an
pan, but much easier to make. I put little
dots of dough on the top to indicate which ones had
filling - and didn't realize what that would look like
after they puffed up. (They look like eyeballs.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it.)
Wanna talk
about it?
