In
a recent E-mail, a friend (hi, Katze!) recently mentioned
"pearl meatballs" to me. Pearl meatballs?
What be those? She described them, and that so intrigued
me that I searched up a recipe and made some the next
evening I had enough time for experimental cooking.
So, here we have the dim sum dish "zhen
zhu wan zi," aka pearl meatballs, which look more
like albino hedgehogs than pearls. Basically, it's ground
pork with some other ingredients like green onion and
water chestnuts, rolled in glutinous rice and steamed.
Tasty! With this is The everpresent broccoli and an pan.
Wanna talk
about it?
