Friday, which is the Summer rerun season of the bento
week. (Did that make any sense at all?)
Anyway, here we have a kaleidoscope of leftovers,
blue and otherwise! octopus & vegetable yakiudon
(made with homemade blue
noodles), a little grilled
chicken on steamed
broccoli, and baked
purple sweet potato with baby carrots for color contrast
and munchiness. Then there's something new: blueberry
mochi. It's actually baked coconut mochi with food
coloring and blueberries. It turned out really well!
Next time I make it, I might try steaming some to see
if it comes out more like the soft, no-crust stuff you
get in stores.
