Today's
lunch is what I would call slightly funky. I have some
hot
dog maki that seem to think they're spring
rolls. I wrapped them in spring roll wrappers rather
than nori, and I included corn and broccoli stems in
the roll. Who knows, maybe they are spring rolls. Whatever,
it's some odd thing that I came up with on the spur
of the moment! It's serves with steamed
broccoli, several ears of baby corn, a sweet rice cake thing, and
a Kool-Aid pickle.
The pickle - the red thing on the right - is flavored
with cherry Kool-Aid, and I did not add a single drop
of food coloring to the mix.
By the way, people have asked about the taste of
Kool-Aid pickles, and I've had a hard time describing
it. Well, I've just realized that it has an appeal similar
to that of SweetTarts - sweet and sour at the same time.
