Konnyaku is a gel made from the konjac plant. It's
used here and there, and when cut into noodle form
it's called shirataki. However, the noodles I bought
- which came in water, and were made into little bundles
designed to be eaten whole - were called konnyaku on
the package, so I'm sticking with that.
Konnyaku doesn't have a lot of flavor; like tofu,
it absorbs other flavors. It's more a texture thing.
So far I've sauteed it in butter with octopus.
